Service Opportunities

Expressing gratitude by giving back.

A Declaration of Unity

This we owe to A.A.’s future:
To place our common welfare first;
To keep our fellowship united.
For on A.A. unity depend our lives,
And the lives of those to come.

“I owe an honorable debt.”

Service is a fundamental aspect of the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and an integral part of our recovery journey.

At KFTF Online, we provide various service opportunities for members to contribute to the well-being and growth of our group.

Engaging in service not only helps others but also strengthens our own sobriety. If you are interested in serving our group, here are some service opportunities available:

  1. Chairperson: As a chairperson, you will have the responsibility of leading and facilitating group meetings. This involves opening and closing the meeting, introducing speakers or readings, and ensuring the meeting adheres to the format and time limits.

  2. Membership Chair: As membership chair, you will welcome and support newcomers who attend our meetings. You will provide them with information about the group, answer any questions they may have, and offer encouragement and guidance as they begin their recovery journey.

  3. Secretary: As a meeting secretary, you will be responsible for administrative tasks related to the group's meetings. This may include taking attendance, keeping meeting records, and handling any necessary correspondence. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our meetings.

  4. Treasurer: A.A groups are fully self-supporting through their members’ voluntary contributions. Treasurers generally maintain clear records and keep their groups informed about how much money is taken in and how it is spent. The A.A. Group Treasurer” offers more information on this role The A.A. Group Treasurer_EN (aa.org)

  5. Trusted Servant Roles: Trusted servant roles are positions of responsibility within the group, such as serving on the Steering Committee, being a group treasurer, or fulfilling other specific roles that help ensure the effective functioning of our group. These roles require dedication, commitment, and a willingness to serve the group as a whole.

Remember, service is a voluntary commitment, and each service opportunity carries its own responsibilities and time commitments. It is important to choose a service role that aligns with your skills, interests, and availability.

If you are interested in participating in any of these service opportunities or would like more information, please reach out to the Steering Committee, trusted servants, or volunteers within the Keep First Things First Online AA Group. They will guide you in selecting a service role that suits your strengths and supports your recovery journey.

Through service, we not only contribute to the well-being of our group but also experience personal growth, build connections with fellow members, and strengthen our own commitment to sobriety. We encourage you to embrace the spirit of service and discover the rewards it brings to your recovery and to the fellowship as a whole.
