Attending your first online Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meeting can be both exciting and nerve-wrecking. Rest assured that KFTF Online is here to support you on your journey to recovery. To help you feel more at ease, here's a brief overview of what you can expect at your first online AA meeting:

  1. The atmosphere is warm, non-judgmental, and focused on recovery. Our group aims to create a safe and inclusive space for everyone, regardless of where they are in their journey.

  2. KFTF Online AA meetings typically follow a specific format. This may include opening readings, such as the Serenity Prayer, AA Preamble, How it Works, The Twelve Traditions, the 9th step Promises which set the tone for the meeting. There may also be a Quarterly speaker meeting. The format will be a closed, speaker, or a hybrid birthday meeting, etc. Primary Purpose Statement card: F-17 - Primary Purpose Statement Card (aa.org)

  3. Sharing is a fundamental aspect of AA meetings. Members have the opportunity to share their personal experiences, challenges, and successes related to alcoholism and recovery. Sharing is voluntary, and you are welcome to participate at your own comfort level. Active listening is encouraged, as members often find strength and inspiration in the shared stories of others.

  4. Anonymity is a vital principle of AA. During the meeting, all participants are expected to respect and maintain the anonymity of fellow members. This means refraining from disclosing personal identifying information outside of the meeting and respecting the confidentiality of what is shared within the group.

  5. If you wanted to share and didn’t have time, please stay for the after meeting. Feel safe to ask questions in an informal setting.

Remember, everyone in the meeting is there because they have a common goal of staying sober and supporting others in their recovery. By attending our meeting, you are taking a brave step towards changing your life for the better.

*General Service Conference-approved.
