How To Chair KFTF Online Meetings:

Before the Meeting:

Ask for volunteers to read How It Works, Twelve Traditions, and Promises.

CHAIR SCRIPT  (to be read.)

Introduction:

Hello, my name is _________________ and I am an alcoholic.

Welcome to the KFTF Online [6:00 AM weekdays and weekends 7:15 AM] meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. Attendance at a closed meeting is limited to those who have a desire to stop drinking. Please protect our anonymity by ensuring those who do not have a desire to stop drinking cannot see or hear our zoom meeting.

AA Preamble:

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics achieve sobriety.

I have asked a friend to read:

HOW IT WORKS - Link to How It Works

TWELVE TRADITIONS - Link to The Twelve Traditions

THE PROMISES  - Link to The Promises

Welcome:

  • Is there anyone here for their very first meeting who would like to give us their first name? It’s our way of welcoming you in, not singling you out.

  • Is there anyone in their first 30 days who would like to be recognized?

  • Is there anyone here visiting from another AA Group who would like to introduce themselves?

Serenity Prayer:

Please unmute your microphone to join me in a moment of silence before opening the meeting with the Serenity Prayer.

“God, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

Please take a moment to re-mute your microphone again.

Topic:

Choose a reading from the Big Book or a reading from other AA literature.

**We ask that you be mindful of the time so others might share.

HALFTIME

7th Tradition:

We have no dues or fees, but we have expenses. The 7th Tradition states, “Every AA group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.” .

If you would like to contribute, all the information on how you can contribute will be posted in the chat.

Announcements:

Are there any KFTF Online related announcements?

(If you have any announcements not directly related to the KFTF Online meeting, please post those announcements in the chat.)

End of the Meeting - Chips:

We give chips for lengths of sobriety and to start the program.

Is there anyone here celebrating an annual birthday today?

- 18 Months  9months   -  6 months   -   3 months    -   2 months    -    1 month

Is there anyone that would like a Desire Chip - an outward symbol of an inward

desire to try this way of life  for the next 24 hours.

Here at KFTF Online, we mail chips to anyone who wants them.

Please check the chat for Emilie B’s phone number to request a chip in the mail. And if you’d like to join our mailing list, please email kftfonline@gmail.com.

Responsibility Declaration & Sponsorship:

I am responsible. . . When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of A.A. always to be there. And for that: I am responsible.

Sponsorship is an integral part of our program. If you are new or do not have a sponsor, we urge you to identify with someone in the meeting and seek out a sponsor. You may reach out to anyone in this meeting, or you may reach out to our membership chair, Jennifer S.  Her number is in the chat.

We are available to help.

Anonymity:

Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our traditions ever reminding us to place principles before personalities. Remember, “What you hear here and who you see here, let it stay here.”

*And if you would like to join us after the meeting, we stick around for questions and   fellowship.

Closing:

Please unmute your microphone before we close with the Lord’s Prayer.
